Taiwan Life AID- Heart-saving starting before arrival • The "Symptoms to balloon (S2B)" after a heart attack significantly impacts myocardial viability. CMUH has developed a pre-hospital STEMI detection system based on 12-lead ECG, which aims to enable patients with STEMI to receive cardiac catheterization as soon as possible. • This system has now been implemented and used by 52 fire brigades in Taichung City and Nantou County. Over 700 ambulance patients have used the system, resulting in the diagnosis of 32 STEMI patients. • Over 80% of STEMI patients can complete STEMI diagnosis within 10 minutes. • Emergency medical technicians can achieve the shortest time from contact to blood vessel perfusion before arrival at the hospital, only requiring 92 minutes. • It helps STEMI patients receive triage within 10 minutes of symptom onset, with the system results with as high as 99.5% accuracy, providing a reliable clinical diagnosis.
